Titan Quest is a Diabloesque RPG set in Ancient Greece and also including Egypt, Persia and what appears to be China. You predictably play as a random adventurer who is tasked with battling the Titans, the gods before the gods in Greek mythology, who are once again free and trying to supplant the new gods. In the demo you start in the small town of Helos and you are immediately tasked with routing an incursion of Satyrs.
The visuals are very nice, golden wheat fields sway convincingly as you run through them and armour appears polished to a mirror-like sheen.
The music is very appropriate with Hans Zimmer/Gladiator type music for the Greek portion.
Gameplay is pretty standard for this style of RPG; with a simple point and click interface, left mouse button is used to attack, move and interact with people and objects, right mouse button can have skills assigned to it and so on. There is a nice ranger of classes to pick from and you are able to choose a second at later levels. The classes that I could see would be available in the full version include: Storm, Earth, Warfare, Spirit, Rogue, Hunting, Nature and Defense.
I must say, though, that the demo is fairly buggy and crashes at unexpected and pretty much random times.
Still, a good looking game nonetheless and I will look forward to sampling the full version later in this month. For more information go to the official site.
