LittleBigPlanet
Playstation 3
$99.95
10/10
LittleBigPlanet is a polished platformer with incredible physics, jaw-dropping sound and a creative community that will keep you endlessly entertained.
The Playstation 3 exclusive, developed by Media Molecule, introduces the gaming community to Sackboy, a silently expressive sack-figure.
LittleBigPlanet is a side-scrolling platformer with a delectable difference. You play as Sackboy, while renowned British actor Stephen Fry provides entertaining voice-over tutorials.
It's a powerful combination, and you'll soon find yourself giggling at every quirky Sackboy movement that is accompanied by an equally humorous one-liner.
Sackboy navigates a linear-path, but players can slide to the back, middle and front of the ground with a touch of the analogue stick.
This allows you to walk past obstacles, solve puzzles and find items hidden behind objects.
The single player story is a little ho-hum, but it matters little because you'll spend most of your time falling in love with the true-to-physics gadgets scattered throughout each carefully themed level.
On his journey, Sackboy traverses garden, fire and water worlds, and takes on monkeys and giraffes in the heart of the Savannah. It's a truly incredible platforming experience.
You'll also discover a creative community that alone is worth the $99.95 asking price.
Gamers can create their own levels using intuitive, easy to use tools, or download thousands of levels designed by other gamers.
The quests on offer range from tongue-in-cheek recreations of other games, to all-out mind boggling masterpieces.
Sackboy has become a gaming superstar and LittleBigPlanet is a game not to be missed.
