Intuitive, cute, and addictive Nintendogs for the Nintendo DS offers a canine serving for sim lovers.
Nintendogs sets you with the challenging task of raising and training a puppy and becoming a successful trainer.
Initially you start with only one puppy but you can buy many more to keep each other company. The breeds available initially to each of the three copies include: Siberian Husky, Golden Retriever, Pug, Miniature Dachshund, Beagle, Shih Tzu, German Shepard Dog, Shetland Sheepdog, Boxer, Chihuahua, Cavalier K C Spaniel, Yorkshire Terrier, Miniature Schnauzer, Shiba Inu, Toy Poodle, Miniature Pinscher, Labrador Retriever and Pembroke Welsh Corgi. All breeds are unlockable in every version through completing various activities.
There many things that you can do with your puppy such as taking it for walks or patting and playing with it but where the game really shines is the ability to train your puppy in order to succeed at one of the three types of competition: agility, obedience and disk trials.
Using the mic you will be able to make your puppy respond to more than just his or her own name. You are able to Teach your dog to do various tricks such as sit, shake, and roll over, or more adventurous ones such as back flipping and break dancing. This is all made simple by the intuitive control system of the touchpad; getting the dog to do the trick is an action of patting it in a certain way or waiting for a certain event and then giving the voice command you want him or her to relate to that trick. Teaching your puppy these tricks allow you to compete successfully in obedience trials which require you to do specific tricks and in a certain order, hold a certain trick for a number of seconds or freely perform impressive tricks for the judges.
The agility trials take the form of a series of obstacles such as vaulting pole and tunnels which you must lead your dog through. Training for this consists of taking your dog to the practice track while on a walk and practicing on specific obstacles to build the skill and co-ordination required for the competition.
Finally, the disk trials give you a chance to show off your puppies speed and agility as you throw Frisbees for him or her to catch, the further away the disk and the higher your dog jumps to catch the disk determine the points value garnered. Again training is a simple matter of taking the dog to a park while on a walk and throwing your Frisbee to your puppy.
A fairly simple, intuitive and addictive game, you can find out more here at Nintendo’s official site.
