How to create a Entropay account for PS3 store

OK - So Aussie and UK PS3 owners are sick and tired of waiting for games like Super Street Fighter II HD Turbo Remix to be released on the local PSN store.

Why the delay? No one know, and none of the major game sites have the balls to tackle the big issue... that's right big boys, just keep on reviewing those crummy Wii titles...

So you want to create an Entropay account to purchase PSN network games from overseas servers. You're local card won't work, you'll have to create a fake PSN account.

Here's how.

Firstly, you won't have to swap between accounts to play the games, they are accessible from all profiles.

The process is fairly straight forward, just have USB keyboard handy to quicken up the typing.

Create a new account, use your real name and the first two lines of your address.

So if your real address is:

7 Dunny Road
Shitters Ditch
Victoria, 3175
Australia

Use the following address when creating a US account (substitute first two lines for your real address):

7 Dunny Road
Shitters Ditch
Beverley Hills 90210
California
USA

You don't have to use Beverley Hills, or California, just make sure the locale, zip code and state all match.

Go through the motions and make sure you can access the US PSN store OK. Now turn your attention to Entropay.

Sign up for an Entropay account using the same US address you used during the PS3 sign up process. This is imperative. So use:

7 Dunny Road
Shitters Ditch
Beverley Hills 90210
California
USA

Changing the first two lines to your REAL address, or the one that matches your bank credit card details.

Enter 1 for telephone country code and 16365898 or similar for phone number.

Once verified, link your local Visa or Mastercard and add some funds to get your account funded. You'll be issued with a virtual Visa card number, a virtual expiry date and a virtual CCV three-digit security.

That was too easy!

Log in to your US PSN account and download the game you're after. It works because the US PS3 payment processor matches to your Entropay details.

Why not also download some of the much better free content, such as Blu-ray trailers, game demos and theme packs?

Then ask yourself, why is SCEE so SLOW and INEPT at providing the same service offered in other parts of the world!

Any questions, ask below and I'll reply within a few hours!

Glen, I heard entropay before, but I haven't test it yet...

By the way, I also have heard some other said that entropay is no longer an option on PSN, is it true?

As far as I'm aware, having created and used a new account a week ago - all works fine.

I've read those reports, something about waiting one or two weeks before the account will work.

I live in Australia, obviously, and used a brand new US PSN account with a brand new Entropay account to buy a US game half an hour later.

I used a VISA card. The number was 4345 4434 3356 7764... Exp date of 12/09, CCV of 43..... Wait, have I said too much?

Hi Glen, I took a different route as I got kinda scared about news that Entropay no longer being accepted at the US store. I created a US store account as normal then purchased a US PSN Points card at: Really Long Link

I purchased one last night, the code was sitting in my email inbox when I woke up. Ended up costing around $40.00 AUD. You pay $5.00 USD for postage but I guess that's the price you pay for someone to write the code and send it via email. Hope this information was helpful.

A nice idea, there are a few forums with reputable posters offering to go out and buy them for other users. Payment is usually via Paypal. I avoided this...

But HD Movie Source is a great site and this looks like a safe option. How long until you got the code emailed through?

Also, not sure about how SCEE and SCEA will tackle this... Reminds me of when Lik Sang sold PSPs to other markets. There may be a legal issue to be hurdled with offering products to different regions.

Great post.

Glen.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, Glen (altough you don't have to expose your personal CC details here lol)

I'll try to register with this entropay maybe in this weekend...

Good post but just one clarification you do not need to actually enter a fake address when registering with EntroPay as EntroPay do not perform AVS checking. I have tried this and it works fine. From their Terms and Conditions:

Which address do I use when making a purchase with my EntroPay Virtual Card?
We do not provide an address with EntroPay Virtual Cards.

When making payments with EntroPay Virtual Cards note that you may input any address and name however as some merchants may insist on verifying orders manually we do suggest you enter your own name/address.

Hi Anon,

Sign up for an Orble account!

I would reccommend creating a new account and card - or simply purchase some USA PSN points online

Really Long Link

Hmm... Something went wrong with mine. I managed to create the virtual card, but the PSN doesnt recognize it.

My adress in the PSN is the same one on the Entropay Card, so i can't see what possibly went wrong

I just used Entropay to buy from the US Store, worked fine. But dont use a US address etc... tell entropay your real details.. You dont need to lie to it.

It then creates a virtual card for you - with no address etc (so its private) which you can load money onto from your credit card (yes, you must have an Aussie or UK credit card in the 1st place).

I only recently signed up (literaly hours ago) and all works well, and instantly.
