Freelancer

Freelancer is certainly not a new game but it is most defiantly a good one, especially in a multiplayer context.
Freelancer is a third person science fiction, open-ended role-playing game. Your character is a space pilot and consequently almost all of the action in the game takes place in space. This sounds fairly generic now that X1 through 3 and other more recent titles have come out as they are all open-ended role-playing games with a similar premise, but what sets Freelancer apart is its open-endedness combined with the ability for multiplayer, something which the other games do not have. What this open-ended feature means is that you can go anywhere in the game’s known galaxies, trade, take on law enforcement missions and bounty hunter contracts, decide to take up piracy or mining and so on. This, combined with multiplayer aspects, allow you to bring a friend, or friends along with you or even to interact with large groups of people online.
While, as I said, Freelancer is now somewhat old if you’re looking for a space/rpg that actually allows multiplayer unlike other newer titles, freelancer is defiantly worth a go.
For more information go to this link for the official site. Also, there are many mods for the game and a good site for these can be found here.
Alskreek, out.
