Dead Rising Demo

Dead Rising is now out in the US but here in Australia we have to wait another month. However, we do have access to the demo...well, sort of. One can get the Dead Rising demo only if you make a new American live account, once this is done you can download it as you would any other demo.
So what does it offer? The demo provides you with a small area of the mall to explore and a large amount of zombies to destroy. The area contains a number of interesting shops to explore and loot for precious weapons; examples include a toy store (flashy lightsabers!), guitar store, restaurant, sports store and a diamond dealer. There are many exits to this area and all treat you with small video clips of what you can expect from the games many storylines and side quests. The demo itself has a time limit of 15 minutes by which time it will be 7pm and a movie will play ending the demo.
The demo allows for a good view at the type of gameplay one can expect. This, though, is tempered by the fact that you cannot complete any quests and that the use of your camera is fairly limited in terms of photo opportunities.
One last thing, if you want the katana just jump past the fridge on the top floor fast food shop. There is a ledge just over the wall and the katana sits there.
