Noooo! Why!? Why does 50 cent have a video game?
Ok lamentations aside lets look at this in a calm manner; we will start by separating the blurb into its component parts.
“After gettin’ shot nine times and left for dead, 50 climbs from the jaws of death to exact revenge on his enemies.” Well, one thing to note about this is that in Microsoft Word the sentence is grammatically incorrect. Are you wondering how I can tell? Well, that’s easy, all my sentences are, more or less, grammatically correct and so there is this big green line where the quotation starts and finishes. Ok so no real surprises I guess, hero gets shot and needs to exact vengeance after miraculously clawing their way back to life. But wait, I thought he was bullet proof to begin with. “Working with his G-Unit soldiers – Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and Tony Yayo – 50 takes on the most powerful gangs and crime syndicates in the city, uncovering a criminal conspiracy with international implications.” G-Unit soldiers? Come on, that’s really sad. Ok so this tells us on our epic quest for vengeance we have a party; I’m going to assume Lloyd is the wizard, Young is the cleric and Tony is the rogue, 50 being the obligatory warrior. I’m going to refrain from making jokes about the international implications bit and just move on.
What type of game is this? It turns out to be an action game, fairly standard really. It could have only been one of two things, the other being some sort of rapping game but I guess your violent exploits could inspire some gritty, hardcore rapping lyrics. It would have been particularly amusing if they had made it into a real time strategy, I can see the build menu now: pads, stashes, clubs; ghetto blocks for more population. Anyway, in all truth the graphics look fairly good and I’m guessing, if you were to ignore the fact that it’s a game with a rapper as the main character, it would be a fairly alright, if generic, gaming experience. “What’s that” you say “You haven’t actually played the game? Then how can you know if it’s good or not?” Let’s just say it is a talent of mine and that you will have to trust me.
What is fun is the music video maker they have on the official site; one can create some very amusing stuff.
